Practice Building : professionalism
Lately we have heard of several instances where members of this profession have been acting unprofessionally and so, potentially, giving us all a bad name. To give two examples, one was of a hypnotherapist using hypnosis in a bar to attempt to get a girl and another was someone offering to help a client to grow taller.
We find such things distressing, not to say annoying so if you agree with us we’d like to encourage everyone to do all they can to not collude with any such behaviour and to, when possible, take action to stop or prevent it.

Motivation: getting through discomfort
They say on the news that today, the UK will be out of recession. Hopefully things will get easier soon, but in the meantime I find it helpful to remember that almost anyone who succeeds in anything has periods when things are uncomfortable and that a dogged persistence is vital! So, if you are battling through, remember that the discomfort will end and then, hopefully you will feel it has been worth it!

Therapeutic work: I’m OK, you’re OK
Writing the above on discomfort reminds me of the TA idea of life positions. This says that everyone has a tendency to take one of four positions:
I’m OK, you’re OK
I’m OK, you’re not OK
I’m not OK, you’re Ok
I’m not OK, you’re not OK
Have a think about which is your natural place and which you would like to reside in. What about your clients? Have a think about some current and past clients. Which position do they take? How might this idea be useful for them?

News 1: UKCP We are delighted to be able to offer another opportunity to those with an appropriately accredited hypnotherapy qualification (eg the HPD) to get accreditation for prior learning (APL) to be able to train with the National College, (leading to UKCP registration as a Hypno-psychotherapist). News 4: Live CPD Courses
Innovative Inductions Workshop – Midlands Base
The aim of this course is to give you skills, and the confidence to use those skills, for inducing hypnosis in a wide variety of ways.
The more skilled and confident you become, the more comfortable your clients will be, and the more they will believe in you and your therapy. This means that therapy will be more successful: so everyone benefits. This is not a watch and learn lecture, it is a practical workshop. On a one day seminar, there is not time for a lot of theory, so this will be kept to a minimum and practical experience of using the inductions will be given priority.
Group numbers are kept small (around 6-8 attendees per trainer) so you will have plenty of time to practice, to ensure you leave full of confidence and competent ready to easily use a range of different inductions with your clients. Most of our courses are supported by at least two trainers, so you can benefit from working with people who have different approaches and styles.

You will have your own set of course notes to take away. These notes contain scripts and notes for all the inductions covered, so that you can concentrate on the processes involved, and master the different inductions quickly and easily. In all we will demonstrate and facilitate practice of at least 10 different induction techniques.
We will demonstrate and teach you how to successfully utilise these fast, effective, efficient hypnotic inductions, so that you can create deep levels of hypnosis quickly and easily with your clients. This workshop is aimed at giving you the skills and the confidence to learn and utilise a range effective, professional inductions, which you can apply straight away with private clients, groups and for powerful demonstrations.
Who can attend?
This workshop is open to Qualified Hypnotherapists / Hypno-Psychotherapists wishing to gain confidence with a wider range of Induction Techniques and to Hypnotherapists / Hypno-Psychotherapists in Training. So it doesn’t matter if you are a student in training, newly qualified, just starting out, or an experienced therapist. If you are ready to master a range of Inductions and enhance your skills you are welcome to attend.

Smoking Cessation – Specialist Certification
This course is designed to equip you to be an expert in working as a hypnotherapists with smoking cessation. The course gives the background to the skills and the reasons why they are effective as well as giving you the means to learn practical implementation.
During the course we explore various aspects of successful smoking cessation sessions, including the pre intervention consultation as well as a range of interventions which can be used, the resolution of problems and ethical promotion of your services.
